THE ARTIST

Corey Lunn grew up in the north country of New York state. He graduated from Alfred University with a fine art degree. He now lives in Portland, Oregon where he works as a sculptor, painter and illustrator.

THE MATERIALS

Our portraits are painted on wood panels with oil-based enamel paint, this ensures vibrant color and a high-gloss finish. Our surface texture is smoother than with a traditional oil painting.

THE PROCESS

The paintings begin with the establishment of a background color. Unless a preference is mentioned in the order, Corey will choose a color that compliments the colors of the pet. Next, a sketch of the composition is made on the square panel. The paint requires hours of drying time between each layer. Soon a background color of the pet's fur is painted. Corey then spends many hours building the layers of paint to show the dimension, texture, and color of your pet.
